Founded by Yale alumnus George Parmly Day, Yale University Press (YUP) upholds the spirit of Yale University’s motto, “Light and Truth.” It specializes in publishing academic books in fields such as literature, history, law, and politics. In recent years, YUP has gained recognition in the publishing industry for its books on art and architecture. In 2004, it was honored as the Best Art Book Publisher by the San Francisco Chronicle. YUP has also established long-term collaborations with world-class museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the National Gallery in the United Kingdom, producing beautifully crafted art catalogs.

Getty Publications is responsible for publishing the research findings of the Getty Foundation, the Getty Museum, the Getty Conservation Institute, and the Getty Research Institute. They produce a wide range of art, photography, archaeology, architecture, cultural heritage, and humanities publications for both the general public and professionals. Their catalog includes individual artist monographs, art history books, exhibition catalogs, cultural history studies, research on material and archaeological conservation, art education materials, and specialized research volumes on the collections of the Getty Museum.
